EACH Certification Communities

The EACH program is divided into two distinct certification communities both having content, knowledge bases, community forums and of course test criteria which are unique to that community.  The EACH Hospital Community is designed specifically for hospitals seeking certification.  The EACH Eligible Provider Community is designed for health providers meeting the ONC and CMS definition of eligible provider.  Please join one of the communities below to get started. If you already have an account in either community, then login before you add the other community.

What is EACH?

Welcome to the Certification Commission's EHR Alternative Certification for Healthcare Providers, or EACH, program. EACH is designed to accomplish two things: evaluate how your technology measures up to HHS requirements to support meaningful use and pursue certification of your existing EHR technology not already covered by a vendor certification. EACH combines online learning, assessment tools and interaction with peers and experts to get you over the first hurdle in qualifying for EHR incentive payments.  Read more.

The EACH program and resources are only available to hospitals, office-based eligible provider groups and their representatives.

Certification Process Overview

  • Preparation

EACH includes three phases that must be completed sequentially to make sure you are fully prepared for certification.  This first phase offers an online orientation to both EACH and CCHIT's ONC- authorized testing and certification program.

  • Readiness

Using the EACH Assessment Tool learning program and the Tool, this second phase moves you through an inventory of your EHR technology, a gap analysis and team building to prepare you for your certification application.

Getting Started with EACH

In The News

According to Healthcare IT News,
EACH certification from CCHIT is proving worthwhile for providers:

Berger said the homegrown system is somewhat unique and has served UNC well. "We were perfect to do the EACH certification," he said. With some of our system commercial and some homegrown, we didn't want to rip everything out and start all over." Berger estimated the cost of starting over at somewhere near $300 million.
